Nintendo Switch: the YouTube app is available

As expected, Nintendo launched the YouTube app on its Nintendo Switch.

YouTube is coming to Nintendo Switch

A few days ago, a little blunder from Nintendo America implied the imminent arrival of YouTube on the Switch. Last night, via Twitter, Nintendo confirmed the availability of the video platform, now accessible directly from the hybrid console. A free application obviously, to download directly from the eShop of the console.

On the download side, the YouTube application for Nintendo Switch requires just under 100 MB of space. The navigation is fully touch screen on the console, with a resolution (necessarily) limited to 720p. Side interface, no surprise, since we find the same thing as the competition.

This is good news for users of the Nintendo Hybrid Console, which adds a feature (highly requested) to its catalog of applications. Obviously, some wish to see other applications coming soon, starting with the inevitable Netflix, which should arrive in a more or less near future.

On the side of Nintendo, however, we rely on games to boost sales of the console at the end of the year, including Super Smash Bros Ultimate, whose release is set to December 7. On this occasion, the Japanese giant will offer a collector bundle, but players will also rely on third-party manufacturers to provide various accessories, starting with 8Bitdo, which will launch its Gbros adapter.

In addition to the "home" games, the Nintendo Switch can also count on some recent outings of choice, with Dark Souls Remastered, or the brand new Diablo III. Of course, before Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Pokémon Let's Go should take care of relaunching the Switch madness.
