The new GoPro Hero 8 Action Camera is expected to arrive within a few weeks. In the meantime, here are some pictures and an idea of its characteristics.

GoPro has become a name synonymous with action cameras and, historically, every year the company launches a new product line in September. The GoPro Hero 6 Black arrived late September 2017, while the GoPro Hero 7 Black (with its more economical versions, Hero 7 Silver and Hero 7 White) landed exactly one year later.
Not surprisingly, the rumors and leaks of the next generation of GoPros have begun to emerge from the internet: the photo news site Photo Rumors has released images of what appears to be a GoPro Hero 8. Although the leaked images are not particularly sharp, a gray number 8 on the side of one of them indicates that it could be the next generation of GoPro cameras. The photos also indicate that GoPro has redesigned the Hero 8 to accommodate new optional accessories, including a microphone, an external display, and an LED lamp.
The redesign is anyway in the air. Last May, Nick Woodman, CEO of GoPro, revealed that the company was looking to refresh the entire range at all price levels. This could also imply that we will not only see a radically revised GoPro Hero 8 Black, but perhaps also a Silver 8 Hero and a White 8 Hero.

It is also expected that the eighth generation of action camera would incorporate a brand new GP2 processor. If so, we should see a clear improvement in performance compared to the already excellent GoPro Hero 7 Black. The new processor could potentially improve camera performance in low light and make the HyperSmooth image stabilization function even more silky.
We have not heard from Fusion 2, but the original is capable of shooting 5.2K video at up to 30 frames per second. However, the overcapacity of the current camera - which converts 360-degree images to ordinary panoramic videos - is time-consuming, which means it may be a product that may be appropriate better to professionals.
