You have your tools stored for the winter and when you want to use them you realize that they are rusty. The solution that comes to mind is to use penetrating oil that is found in commerce but know that natural products are just as effective and especially more environmentally friendly.

White vinegar is radical to remove rust


The rusty tools are usable in that state, we must unjam them. A very effective product to use in these cases is the white vinegar. Put your tools in a bowl and cover them with white vinegar. Leave on overnight and over. The next day, rinse well your tools with clear water and dry them. Normally any rust should have disappeared. This trick works with all metal tools but will be just as effective with nuts and bolts.

Remove rust stains on tools


If your tools are just stained with rust, white vinegar bath is probably not necessary. Take several sheets of newspaper that you will roll into a ball. Then, dip the ball in white vinegar and rub well your tools where rust stains is. The tasks should disappear quite easily.

Use an onion to remove rust from tools


For this trick you will need sugar and an onion. Cut the onion in 2 and sprinkle the powdered sugar surface. Scrub vigorously with your tools that half onion, mildew should disappear. This technique will also work on knives.

To avoid your tools rust during winter because of the humidity, remember to oil them before storing. Clean them and dry them well after each use will also prevent rust from settling.
