While YouTube remains the number one, Facebook every day becomes a very serious competitor. #FacebookVideoMonetization
If I have any advice to give if you want to share a video on Facebook and have maximum audience (views), it would be to share this video in the native format of Facebook, rather than sharing an external drive like this YouTube.
Although YouTube is still favorite go to place for video lovers, more and more people are turning towards sharing videos on Facebook. Many business use Facebook videos to market their product and reach far more audience than ever before. Users also can easily download Facebook videos on phone and desktop.
However, for a creator, YouTube offers a possibility that Facebook does not yet offer so far: to earn money through advertisements.
But the number of social networks is determined to devour even more shares of the Google platform and to do that, he will embark on a revenue sharing model with the creators.
Of course, it may be necessary to wait a while before it's possible for everyone to benefit, but at least now we know what direction Facebook intends to take.
Facebook Video Monetization (Beta)
Facebook has recently launched the Facebook video monetization (Beta) program. As a part of this revenue sharing program, Facebook allows users to show Ad breaks within their Facebook Live videos. Users can earn 55% of the Ad revenue where Facebook takes the remaining 44%.
During an interview with the website Re/Code, Dan Rose, vice president in charge of partnerships at Facebook, explained how it intends to share advertising revenue with partners.
But unfortunately (or not) like Facebook prefers things unfold smoothly, only some partners might have advantage of this new model initially. Apart from all these Facebook 360 videos seems to be working pretty well.
Monetization (which will not be valid for all videos) will be done through a new feature called "Suggested Videos", a sort of newsfeed reserved for video content.
When a user will click on a video, it will switch to the news feed where he can read it but also find a suggestion related videos, which will be proposed by the algorithms.
The video news feed will also contain ads auto-play in enabling creators to earn money.
And as video news feed will be common to several videos, 55% of revenues (45% back to Facebook) will be shared between creators of different videos of the wire depending on their reading time.
The feature debut on iOS and Android versions will arrive on the web and social network later.
So in the meantime, the best way to make money from YouTube videos remains. And Facebook may not yet know exactly how it will charge advertisers will place advertisements on this new video news feed.
