Finished with the color, lets go black and white... that's the idea that is currently being tested in Instagram for the new look. The photo sharing platform wants to see its background in design heights.
All sites, all applications are one day faced with a crucial stage in their development, the modernization of their image or redesign. After a few years, users may experience a nice way when sites do not apply any major changes.
What's all with the new design?
Instagram is not standing still. Its looking on to a version in rather sleek design and black and white, to bring more modernity. It is the site The Verge who revealed this information, indicating also that in addition to the overall look of the design, the logo also be reworked with a logotype much closer to a camera visually.
A work from top to bottom design would be ongoing for test and see what happens visually but also to see the behavior of users. There hasn't been any clarification about these changes by Instagram yet, but at least we know that the platform is seriously considering to change its look and feel.
Anton Abramov is the person who has shared some screenshots of the new black and white Instagram. From the same screenshot shown above these are a few changes that you can consider coming in new design.
- Use of line icons
- Change in the icon to upload photo from the old 'circle within a square' to a more 'camera like' line icon in the center.
- Notification icons becomes a heart from what it used to be a heart within a chat bubble.
- The notification color is gonna be more like pink instead of the old orange color.
My opinion: I do like the overall design changes but I'd love if they don't ditch the colors.
